An Integrated Approach to the Yamaha Harmony Director
The Yamaha Harmony Director is arguably the most powerful tool instrumental music teachers can use to improve the sound, balance and tuning of their ensembles. Although there is plenty of information on “What” the Harmony Director (and other drones) can do, there is less available on the “How” and “Why.”
Ensemble strives to help directors and students use the Harmony Director as an integral tool in all aspects of the wind rehearsal. Appropriate for all levels and age groups of ensembles, each exercise is accompanied with detailed lesson plans on how the director and the student interact with the technology. Michael Pote is Director of Bands at Carmel High School in Carmel, Indiana. Michael has presented clinics throughout the country including the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic, Texas Music Educators Clinic, The Boston Brass Summer Winds Seminar, Indiana Music Educators Association Conference and Arizona Music Educators Conference. Michael is a member of the American Bandmasters Association, Phi Beta Mu and is proud to be a part of the Yamaha Master Educator Program.
Kyle Young
Kyle Young is Associate Director of Bands at Carmel High School in Carmel, Indiana. Kyle is an Artist Clinician for the Vandoren Company as well as a judge for both the Bands of America and Drum Corps International organizations. Kyle regularly presents clinics and serves as a conductor for honor bands across the country.
Andrew Brough
Andrew is co-director of bands at Creekside Middle School in Carmel, Indiana. He has over 14 years of teaching experience ranging from beginning to high school band. Andrew has spent over four of those years at Creekside working extensively with the Yamaha Harmony Director.
