Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair! Few things are as simple, and yet so complex, as hair, marker of beauty and status, deeply rooted in culture, and tradition, vehicle for self-expression. For this production the FMP team has taken the classic fairy tale of Rapunzel as their starting point for a journey into hair’s suprising meaning and importance, juxtaposing Grieg with Lady Gaga, Debussy with Willow Smith, By turns beautiful and funny, sophisiticated and suprising, Rapunzel is a musical journey your students and audience won’t soon forget.

Rapunzel was commissioned by the Marion High School Band from Marion, Arkansas.
